The Chicago Mixtape (aka: Free Music)

I believe this qualifies as a vision.

At Anobium, we aren’t only interested in books. Music is important to us, too. And so is Chicago. And so is the idea of independent artistry. We don’t tout these flags, but they are hanging on our walls.

Earlier this week, I learned about the Chicago Mixtape. It’s a weekly series put together by a fella named Casey Meehan, and features a free, weekly, downloadable ‘mix tape’ with songs from independent Chicago musicians of variegated notoriety. It’s all very simple, and you don’t have to be from Chicago to enjoy it. Make sense? Impress your friends with your entropic knowledge of the obscure.
