Introducing: The Aemette Initiative & Velocipedal Dispatch

For the New Year, we’ve re-launched and re-inaugurated two of our major programs: The Aemette Initiative, our education discount program, and Velocipedal Dispatch, our north-side Chicago delivery service.
Here’s everything in a nutshell (text taken from our press releases):
Re: The Aemette Initiative – After a successful eight month-long trial run available only to Chicago Metropolitan area schools, the Aemette Initiative, originally referred to as the Education Discount Program, helped introduce hundreds of students in dozens of local schools to Anobium and the independent publishing scene.
With its unique, DIY approach to small business and publishing, Anobium and the Aemette Initiative hope to begin new conversations with those on both sides of the university system.
Regarding the naming of the initiative, program creator and Anobium co-founder Benjamin van Loon said, “An aemette is a worker ant. Their colonies function so efficiently because each ant plays an integral role in the collective function. The Aemette Initiative is our contribution.”
Beginning January 1st, teachers, students and staff with a .edu address from any institution of higher education can purchase Anobium releases for 20% off the listed price (with bulk purchase discounts also available). For more information regarding individual or bulk Aemette Initiative purchases, navigate to https://anobiumlit.com/services/aemette/ or contact the editors directly for an invoice at editor@anobiumlit.com.
Re: Velocipedal Dispatch – The Velocipedal Dispatch Service offers qualified customers ordering Anobium products on-line an option for home delivery, free of charge. Customers can also e-mail their orders and pay on delivery. Most orders placed using this service will be delivered within 48 hours.
Chicago addresses qualifying for Doorstep Delivery Service include those located in Rogers Park, West Rogers Park, North Park, Albany Park, Lincoln Square, Edgewater, Ravenswood, Uptown, Avondale, North Center, Roscoe Village, the Loop, and Logan Square. Those living outside of the delivery area may also qualify for Doorstep Delivery Service, and can contact the Anobium Shipping Manager for order queries (editor@anobiumlit.com).
Velocipedal Dispatch was created by Anobium co-founder Benjamin van Loon, who moonlighted during his university career as a bicycle messenger. “We have the resources and the capability, so this service just makes sense,” says Benjamin. “What takes the USPS a week will take us an afternoon, and it saves everyone a few bucks.”
